Draho & Zuzana

Poloha Counseling

(Family and Couple Therapy)

Helping prevent and decrease the divorce rate among families in Slovakia.

ABOUT

LOCATION: Slovakia

WHAT WE DO: We help prevent and decrease the divorce rate among families in Slovakia by leading marriage courses in Banska Bystrica at Narnia school on weekends for couples and families, while also providing personal counselling.

Our Mission:

To help prevent and decrease the divorce rate among families in Slovakia. Based in Banska Bystrica at Narnia school by leading marriage courses, weekends for couples and families, and providing personal counselling. They would like to create a network of competent Christian marriage and family therapists in Slovakia who would train pastors and people in pastoral care ministry in local churches.

Our Calling:

After two decades serving with TCK/Josiah Venture training youth leaders they have experienced a generation gap and absence of parental authority that is significantly affecting ministry. Slovakia does not have an established counseling ministry among evangelicals.  Draho with Zuzana have sensed a strong call to bridge this gap and serve the church in this unique way. For this reason, in Aug. 2019 they both started a two-year, full-time Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s Degree at Wheaton College.

Bio:

Draho was born in Slovakia, but from the age of 8 to 25 he lived in a small Slovak village in Serbia. He worked as a graphic designer for a Christian evangelistic center in Backi Petrovac. In the fall of 1999, he moved back to his home country to serve with Training Center Kompas (TCK). TCK is Josiah Venture’s national organization in Slovakia. There he met his wife Zuzka. In 2011, they started Fusion (music ministry) in Banska Bystrica and since serve together in the local church Cirkev Bratska. They also serve at the Narnia Christian school where they have a fledgling counseling center.

Our Passion:

Draho's passion is to lead worship and disciple young men. Zuzka is also involved in women’s ministry. They have two sons, Oliver and Viktor, and a daughter, Johanna.
